My Makeup Favorites

Hello Ladies and gentlemen of course, I hope you all are doing well and having a great week!

We have another blog post this week YAY! The past week was hectic for me, so I’m glad to be able to make time for blogging as it is my own way to get away. I plan on taking time out, maybe a couple of days to visit family and friends.

Today’s post as you can tell from the title is about my favorite items in my makeup collection. Some of them are staples while others are recent finds that I have fallen in love with.

If you’re fairly new to the makeup game, I hope you find this useful to build your very own collection or even if you’re a guru, you could try some of these products. If however you have tried any of the products mentioned, let me know in the comment section what your opinions are.

We can agree that make up is annoyingly expensive and one’s expense should be subject to their income. It’s okay to start small and build your collection as you go along.

  1. Foundations

I have oily skin so I tend to go for foundations that would not end up on my neck at the end of the day. Recently I have been gravitating toward the Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation; it gives good coverage with a natural finish and doesn’t slip and slide. Another foundation that is great for oily skin and wouldn’t break the bank it the Maybelline Fit Me + Poreless Foundation.

  1.  Powder

I use the Mac Mineralised Skin finish to set my foundation. I also tend to reach for the benefits powder.

  1. Primer

To help my makeup stay in place all day and to smoothen out my pores so that my foundation does sip into them I like to use a very good primer. The one I have been using and I recommend is the Mirabella Primer, its waterproof and does an amazing job in keeping my make up in place all day. This may be difficult to find, the alternative that everyone and their mamas have being talking about is the Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector by Becca. This primer right here does not move come rain come shine, the only down side is that it has to be applied lightly or it could feel very drying even for oily skin.

4. Blush

I’m not very adventurous when it comes to blushes, I usually for the bronzy blush look and I love the Bronze Blush by Mac.

  1. Concealer

I have been using the Mac Studio Fix concealer for years now and it’s a staple in my collection, I find myself time after time re-purchasing this product. I have also recently tried Benefit’s ‘boi-ing full coverage concealer’ and I would definitely recommend that as well.

  1. Contour

I use the Mac QuikTrik Stick. When it comes to contouring I honestly think it.s not that deep as long as it works.

  1. Eye liner

I strongly recommend MAC Fluideline Eyeliner Gel, I have used it for so long. I tried to switch to Benefit gel line for a change but it wasn’t the same. I personally prefer gel liners as I find them easier to apply than the liquid liners.

  1. Eye shadow

I’m a minimalist when it comes to eyeshadows. I tend to stick with neutral tones. MAC has a good selection of neutral tones, so you could check that out.

  1. Brushes

Whether it’s a nameless brush off aliexpress or branded brush, as long as it serves the purpose, I’m good. I had a few MAC brushes but I lost them in transit so now I just use any brush that is soft enough and doesn’t leave streaks on my face.

  1. Eyebrow pencil or eyebrow filler

Like they say ‘the brows frame the face’. I like to outline the shape of my brows and fill in my using an eyebrow pencil. I prefer this to the eyebrow fillers or pomade as I haven’t gotten the perfect shade for my brows. I use a regular inexpensive dark brown eye pencil.

  1. Mascara

I strongly recommend Chelsea Beautique mascara, It is water proof and it makes my lashes long and thick.

*Bare in mind that with make up its trial and error, the fact that it works for me doesn’t mean it will work for you. Just remember to have fun with it.

Stay Beautiful. Kisses
