The long awaited getaway…

The long awaited getaway. Although Abu Dhabi is 1:30minutes away from Dubai. I was at work thinking of what to do for the weekend, maybe go to a club, karaoke, beach or just hang out with Teka and go to the movies as usual.

Surprisingly, as I was packing up to close for the weekend I got a call from a friend Glory, asking to confirm if I was still interested in the Abu Dhabi trip.

I had completely forgotten we had been planning to getaway this weekend. I had cancelled earlier because other appointments, but now that my weekend has miraculously freed up, I can’t wait.

Though I have been to the ‘Ferrari world’ and ‘Water world’ a few of times, I was still very excited to go out let loose and have fun.

We (Glory, Simi and I) left Dubai for Abu Dhabi at 10am Friday morning, we arrived Abu Dhabi at 11:30pm, checked into our hotel and immediately headed to Ferrari world. We got a 2 pass ticked for 2 days which cost 335 AED ($91) per person.

It was so much fun, we went on the fastest roller coaster in the world which was only about five seconds…guys I swear I died and came back to life.

After all the fun we cleaned up and went for dinner and of course some retail therapy.

On Saturday morning visited the Abu Dhabi mosque, took some pictures (Yes! we were on full tourist mode). From there we went to Yas Water World, I love water rides and that’s ALL this water world has to offer.

We left Abu Dhabi on Sunday, in the Taxi back I couldn’t help but reminisce on how much fun I was leaving behind. However duty call…till next time Abu Dhabi.

Have you been to Abu Dhabi, what were your experiences, did you have fun? Let me know by leaving a comment.

  1. Never been to Dubai, but I hope to one day. Really good story, I like the way you explained the experience. It got me laughing when you said “guys, I swear I died and came back to life”. Really nice post, thoroughly enjoyed it.

  2. Been to Abu Dhabi mosque, but I didn’t get to visit the Ferrari world. Billion you need to create another fun experience with me.
